I got the draft of my essay in yesterday - yay me! This means that with luck, I'll be a librarian by mid-June as planned. It also means that for the first time in a month or so, I actually have time to write. Generally speaking, it's best to keep expectations on a reasonable level, of course. But he likes large casts, he dislikes moustachio-twirling, and he's not afraid to throw things out the window if they don't work for him so, yeah, I'm positive. Plus, as much as I think Joss Whedon is an ass, his shows are still good enough that I'm glad Vaughn mentions him as someone who gets it right.

I'm actually a bit pleased that Vaughn isn't planning to follow Singer slavishly, and that he's eager to give the full cast something to do, make it a real ensemble.

Yeah. I'd be worried if said, "We're going to keep things Singer's way, honestly!" because those endeavours rarely work out well. You can't be someone else.

Also, speaking selfishly, the later start date and his pledge to give chast members equal time makes it a lot more likely that Cyclops will finally get his due. Well, we can hope. (g)

Hope springs eternal! And yeah, it does look like it's at least possible he will get things to do - and with less Wolverine fanboying there may even be time for it.
