I just got back from the student film studio, for the third time in four days. This time I was lucky: I liked The Portrait of a Lady very much. Even cried a bit. Checking rottentomatoes.com before I went, I found a lot of bad reviews, but seeing the film, I found it both aesthetically pleasing and emotionally touching

I have been thinking of going to those films, but I somehow never get around to it. You're perfectley right, John Malkovich is not seductive at all. He kind of reminds me of a snake, which is why I didn't object at all when there was a rumour going around that he was going to be cast as Voldemort.

I wrote two articles for the catalogue and got a free card, which I've barely used at all during the semester, so now that December is nearing I'm using it all the time. Am even thinking of going again on Tuesday.

Thanks! And no, not technically. It's from the season 2 Angel episode "Untouched", as Angel and Cordelia have the following conversation:

Cordelia: No think, pay! That's an order!
Angel: Hey, how about we pretend that you work for me.
Cordelia: You are really unpleasant in the morning.
Angel: They why don't we pretend that you don't.
Cordelia: You can't fire me; I'm Vision Girl! (sticks out tongue)

The quote on the icon is from "Drive My Car" with the Beatles, a song I find particularly Cordelia-like.

Yeah, they're nice. I'm pretty nostalgic about the season 1 stuff - it's pretty uncomplicated compared to the latter seasons. On the other hand, the dark soap opera world the show later becomes is quite delicious too.

you're right. The words John Malkowich and "love interest" simply don't go together!

They *so* don't. It's like the casting directors go, "Oh, but it's an evil part!" and miss out on the fact that it's not an *immediately apparent* evil part.
