I have to travel to Stockholm at six thirty tomorrow to take a class I don't want to take in the first place. To make things even more perfect, I've been sick as a dog all afternoon and puking my guts out. I could tell you a thing or two about Big Macs, but that's a bit too TMI for anyone to take

The second Matrix is... notverygood in my opinion.
DS9--v. good description! I always called it "Melrose Place in Space." (It was my favorite Trek, so I can do that. ha.)
X-Files lost steam after the show moved from filming in Canada to filming in LA, IMO. It went on for a few years too long, which made me sad since it was the first show I really went kooky over. High, high slashing possibilities, as well as the yumminess that is Mulder 'n Scully. I'm pretty sure this fandom is where the term "shipper" originated. On the old alt.tv.x-files Usenet group. "Noromo" didn't seem to catch on (for "no romance" between the two main characters ( ... )

One of them was made into that boring film with Kirsten Dunst as the only redeeming feature despite the muchness of hunkitude
actually 2 were made into movies. movie 1 (the only one I have seen, Interview with a Vampire) has muchness of hunkitude... I watch it every couple of years just in amazement that all those hunks were in the same movie, yet never all in the same scene. I think that actually happens somewhere around book # 4 or 5. hm.....

It flopped majorly. I will watch it one day, because I enjoyed the book (I believe it was after that one that they just started going downhill super-fast)
It had some actress in it, who died before the movie came out... can't remember her name...
hope you are having fun in Stockholm.

C. S. Forester - You've not read or seen Hornblower??? (The TV movies are pretty much tripe apart from the, well, pretty... but the books are excellent.)
Farscape - Distinguishes itself by having an absolute raving nutcase as the lead, which is at least a departure from the usual genre hero cardboard cutouts. Pretty sure you'd like that, too because, well, it's wacky and has Weird Alien Sex and systematically drove its main character insane. It's like anti-Trek. (On a side note, there's also the show LEXX, which I don't know if you've ever seen, which is even more so.)

2. Nope. Never. Knew they existed, but only due to my like of the African Queen movie.
3. Sounds interesting. I don't think it ever aired on any channel I've got. And no, I've never seen LEXX either.

2. Can you get the books easily over there? Although I admit that for me the pull is how understated the action and character work is, and the detail of the naval background and the intensity of the battle scenes, which is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. The TV movies on the other hand were about Ioan Grufford and a handful of other hot blokes wearing uniforms and swashing buckles. Most of the fandom is about dribbling over the TV movies ( ... )

And Blake's 7 does sound kind of interesting, although maybe too dark for me.

And I always meant to see Spirited Away, because that guy is the one who's making Howl's Moving Castle. Judging from the pics I've seen he has a truly *weird* view of the castle, but weird is good.

Smallville - I know of it only because I have a friend who's insanely into John Glover. I fell asleep.
X-Files - I like Skully but eventuall she turned into a snivelling drone. And I don't think Mulder is in any way cute. Krychek is kinda cute but the whole teenaged angst thing is too much for me.
Boy Bands - Can I just go ewwwwwwwww?
Firefly - ditto
Fastlane - more ditto
Highlander - Only watched when Roger Daltry was on, so I feel I've probably avoided the worst.
Enterprise - I was very sad that Star Trek had come to this. Horrific show.
Stargate - Well... It's ok as SF, I guess. I like the older ones better but I see zero slash potential here. Not much more than simple comradeship and sometimes not even that.
Blake's 7 - I watched it years ago but it never moved me to fiction. Too much angst and drama, if you know what I mean.
I am woefully out of touch as most of my shows of interest started before 1980...

I'm woefully out of touch and don't have that excuse since I didn't start until 1980.
Of course, I can always go with the "I don't think it ever aired here" routine.
