Well, got my quiz back from last week today. Before I tell y'all what I got, I want to take a second to thank everyone who was sending well-wishes and keeping their fingers crossed that I would do okay on the damned thing. I recall mentioning that I was hoping for a 70%, as that way if I didn't do terrible but didn't do excellent I would either be ( Read more... )

I'm trying to wrap my head around a female dragon named Waspinator. That said, my heartfelt congrats on the Latin quiz score. I know you wanted a good grade very much.

I'm still giggling that Waspy gendered female; I was just thrilled to be able to give the name to a neotropical. I need to think long and hard about which of my other dragons I possibly breed her with (maybe those are the plans? *shrug*)

Anyway, thanks for the congrats! I'm hoping to do just as well on the one this coming Thursday. Eep!

Congrats on your quiz!! I don't know much Latin (aside from a prayer, two quick phrases, and maybe a few more words), but I can understand. :) And if you're having trouble remembering translations/phrases, try saying them out loud to yourself while walking around in a circle. It actually helps because you're using more senses to learn the information: your hearing by listening to your words, your sight as you're reading it, and the touch sense by moving around. It might help you. Oh, and afterwords ask one of your friends/family members to quiz you. Trust me, it'll work. :) (And somehow, peppermints were shown to boost attention. Have a peppermint while studying).

I hope that helps! :D *gives a hug*

And on a side note, how do you manage to post dragons into a LiveJournal post? I've been trying, but I can't seem to do it. Could you help me?

I've tried just about every potential way to retain the information, and every little trick can potentially help!!

When you try to post to LiveJournal with the dragons, make sure that you're using the HTML code format rather than BBCode format. One of my LJ buddies constantly forgets that he can't use BBCode here and winds up with some... odd-looking posts as a result.

I'm still having some trouble. Is the HTML code imcomplete when you copy it from the Dragon Cave?

Hmm. It should be complete when you copy it. The best bet would be to click inside the box, right-click and choose Select All then Copy. Other than that, I'm completely confused as to what might be going on there O.o
