Deployment Reading List

This is list of books that I will be reading during my deployment. I am only taking about four or five books with me in my bags. I just need to carry enough reading material for the trip (which has the potential to drag on for a number of days) and the first couple of weeks in Baghdad. Probably the best military book I have read in a while was:

Camp All-American, Hanoi Jane, and the High and Tight: Gender, Folklore...by Carol Burke. It discusses militray folklore and talks about women in the military. I don't know if it is available in paperback yet.

For 'light' reading...

The James Patterson Alex Cross series
Janet Evanovich...the number series...starts with One For the Money

When do you leave?

Be safe.

Wow! Apparently I wasn't paying attention and this comment seems to have been screened for nearly the past month. I saw it, but didn't realized I had to allow it. Sorry.

Thanks for the advice; I'll keep it in mind. I'm not currently planning to add any books to my list at the moment. I already have more than I think I can read here with my schedule and there's more on the way in the mail. On my first deployment I was able to get through a lot of books. It was great. This deployment is good too, but I don't think I'll make it through as many books as I'd like. The burdens of being the boss.

If you've read my more recent journal posts, you'll see that I am almost a month into my time here. My 179 days started when I arrived in Kuwait so I am making progress towards departure. Thanks for the suggestions.
