My sims game is borkified.  The photo doesn't show it very well. That leg thing Loki is talking to is supposed to be Nervous.

I actually can't remember what I last downloaded hack-wise.

Thanks for the info. Jo! I'll do these later when I next have time.

I've just checked and loaded my game--it's definitely one of the hacks I've got. Now to figure out just which one it is! *groan*

Argh! Everytime I took the hacks out and put ACR or any of the other hacks in one-per-try, it borked the game! I'm going to do your other suggestion and see how that goes.

There was that Windows update a few weeks back that was messing up everyone's game. I can't remember all the details, but I think peasant007 and dicreasy were both having trouble. So did superfrog. There was a tumbler thread about it. I didn't have the problem because my video card wasn't affected by the update. Sorry I can't be more helpful but you might find it if you search.

Two questions, building off what Jo and tatdatcm said:
First, what operating system do you use? Second, what are the last things you downloaded? (it isn't always game-related stuff: you might have an update to your OS that is messing with your game and your graphics card.)

My operating system is Windows 7. As I told Jo, I can't remember what the last thing I downloaded before it started being borked.

Hmmm... it could be the 7 update, it could be a hack... you said you loaded the vanilla game and it worked properly? How long did it work properly?

See, it sounds like your object instances (the little files saved per object) are borked in the graphics department (not really a technical term,) but I'm at a loss as for what's happening if the vanilla game worked properly, because hacks shouldn't do anything to the graphics.

Also, next time you save your game, borked or no, use all of the fix and clear crap options on the bat box. (Such as clear boring gossip, junk memories, etc. Don't use the fix sim randomizer, I don't think you need that.) It's possible that you just have junk files somewhere.

I had actually tried it with all expansion packs included; it worked a tiny bit better without the hacks, but as soon as I put ANY of the hacks back in (it didn't matter which one) it would bork again.

I've done what Jo suggested above and have essentially reset the whole thing, so I have no downloads or anything atm.

I did all those things with the bat box, but it didn't help a whole lot.

I'll reinstall some of the downloads I used to have and see how things go.

Oh yeah I forgot about that Windows update. Apparently it only affected some graphics cards and not others. Mine never changed but others had unplayable games.
