San Francisco Treat!

Apr 07, 2014 11:09

Yesterday I had to be at the airport by 0515. We worked for almost ten hours (almost 8 of flying) and when we disembarked in San Francisco it was not even 1300/1:00 pm! It was one of those gorgeous, clear, warm days in San Fran. I took a quick 30 minute power nap then we took the BART downtown with two of my fellow crew members ( Read more... )

personality tests ftw!, plane insanity, irl, layover recs, coffee coffee coffee

I think I was an INTJ, but it's been sooooo long since I took mine that I don't remember anymore.

That sounds like a lovely evening, barring the waaaay tired! Glad you had fun and got enough rest afterward :)

Yeah, it's an interesting way to classify people. There are tons of quick tests online if you want to take one.

It was great but yeah, so wiped!

I just had pad Thai yesterday, so yummmmmmmmm! Green curry, on the other hand, me no likey. Red curry is what I can do :D

San Fran is one place I'd like to visit if I ever get my butt back to the states. I'd totes go to the Castro and head directly to that famous bookshop, City Lights, in another area.

Sounds like you had a great, but tiring day! I'm glad you got some much needed sleep!

Yummy! I like red too, but this green rocked. Perfect level of spicy goodness.

It's one of my favorite cities. City Lights is also in North Beach (I think-- or at least super close if not). I love that place. I could wander through their huge basement of non-fiction for hours and the little poetry alcove upstairs is so cool. But mind the hipsters who shall glare at you for interrupting their fourteenth reread of Howl, lol. There are a couple other awesome bookstores in San Fran too, including some brilliant used bookstores.

Sounds like a lovely SF day. I'm fond of Steak-n-Shake shakes, but not in SF -- too many other good things that you can't get elsewhere.

Interesting that two out of the three of you FAs are I-personality types instead of E's. Must be like teaching -- an I-type makes a good actor (can bury the real self behind a performance), and teachers/FAs have to do a lot of acting!

It was! I love SF! And agreed-- nothing against Steak n Shake, but we came all the way to San Fran, spent the money and time to take the train into town and we do not need fast food that could be found in dozens of other cities when there are so so many awesome options before us! Gosh, I love eating in San Fran. :)

Interesting. I do find that with me, at least. I can be bright and bubbly with passengers because it's a role, but I can't really do that in real life situations.

*is envious* I was just bemoaning that I've not yet made it to Northern California while looking at hotel prices in SF and suffering sticker shock. :) Sounds like you had a wonderful day. May I repeat? *is envious* :D

So pricey! Ugh! One of my fav cities in the world though so I do end up going a fair bit. I've been really wanting to do a wine country vacation! Some day ... It's so pretty. I hear it's more manageable in the off season up there and honestly, the weather is comparable year round so it's still awesome.

Haha, yes. Pros and cons of the job-- getting great layovers every once in a while is a huge PRO.

I haven't been to San Fran in ten years (<--what?!), so I'm jealous. Jealous! Don't you love finding great little holes-in-the-wall?

One of my favorite cities! Hole in the walls are brilliant ... And much easier to find with the advent of things like Yelp! Hehe.
