Yesterday I had to be at the airport by 0515. We worked for almost ten hours (almost 8 of flying) and when we disembarked in San Francisco it was not even 1300/1:00 pm! It was one of those gorgeous, clear, warm days in San Fran. I took a quick 30 minute power nap then we took the BART downtown with two of my fellow crew members.
We walked the Embarcadero from Pier 1 to about 39. We stopped to see the tourist beloved sea lions. The other FA was all excited about getting Steak n Shake or In n Out shakes, but I convinced them to go to North Beach instead, tempting them with cannoli and pasty and gelato. We walked there and stopped for a couple drinks and a rather interesting discussion of personality types, including Myers Briggs, and that was both surprising and fun. (I'm ISTJ, the other FA was ENFJ, and the FO was ISTP)
We met up with a friend of the other FA's for dinner at a Thai place I found on Yelp! called Chabaa's, which was just right: cheap, clean, hole-in-the-wall place with great food. The FO and I split pad Thai with prawns and the green curry. So so so good. It was also further down towards Union Square so it was easier to get back to the BART station and head back.
It was almost midnight when I went to bed, so I had been up and on my feet (so much on my feet!) for nearly 23 hours. I crashed hard and did not wake up until 0920, which is crazy late! (Past 11 on my body's time!) clearly, my body was needing that. I'm glad I slept, because I'm still a little sore (just tired and my feet hurt)
Time for a shower, another cup of coffee, and another long day in the friendly skies!
