Our lapine patient did not make it through the night. When I got up to check on him this morning it was obvious the Black Rabbit of Inle had visited.

All Watership Down references aside, I of course feel bad about it but well, it's not like it was a pet. I'm not in tears, just rather bummed. Nature can be a bitch sometimes...and yet it was

Aww, it's OK. Sorry it didn't go well, but you tried your best, you did all that you could. Like you said, at least the rabbit died in a better, safer and more dignified place than if he were left alone in the wild.

As I said before, it was very kind and thoughtful of you to help him through and find help for him. :)

You did all that you could which is more than what most would have done. I'm sure he was thankful that he at least got to slip away with some degree of peace and comfort that you provided.
