Regret in itself is not a logical concept. It simply means to feel sorrow or remorse for a previous action, but everything we do is done because it is what we think is best with the knowledge we have at that point. Good thoughts. Were they brought up in your philosophy class, or were you just pondering? Regret IS illogical and it frustrates me that that is one of the things that I experience irrationally, even though I strive to be so rational. It thwarts my efforts. Also, I have trouble deciding whether relationships are worth it. If not, then that is another irrational thing I will always do: get involved with girls. I often wonder whether my relationship with Meagan was worth it at all. It was incredible for a long time but the pain afterward was more intense than the pleasure during it ever could be, becuase in retrospect I exaggerate how good it was even more.

I was just pondering. I think the trick must be not regretting relationships after the fact, knowing that we're wired to pursue them in the midst of all the pain that they sometimes bring. It's probably true that not all relationships are worth it in the end, but we have no way of knowing that from the get-go. So we ride them out with the hope that they might end pleasantly. We can talk more about it later; I've got to run now but thanks for the comment. I appreciate your feedback.
