So I'm going to be a bridesmaid in this wedding in April. Which is nice and flattering and all, and I think it'll be fun, but first of all there's stress with having to find a dress--the bride is doing the "oh, buy something blue you'll wear again! I don't want to make you wear something!" thing, which is very sweet of her but actually

I was just a bridesmaid last fall and I always have trouble with gift-giving etiquette. The bridesmaids threw the bridal shower, so I got the bride a shower gift as well as giving them a wedding present, but it's kosher to pick a shower gift off the registry, so that makes things easier. I didn't go to the bachelorette weekend, but there weren't any "bachelorette gifts" associated with it, or with anything else. Weird.

I thought so too! Plus, I don't think we're doing an actual bachelorette party, so much as hanging out at the bride's house and eating chocolate. So... I dunno.
