Bridesmaiding
So I'm going to be a bridesmaid in this wedding in April. Which is nice and flattering and all, and I think it'll be fun, but first of all there's stress with having to find a dress--the bride is doing the "oh, buy something blue you'll wear again! I don't want to make you wear something!" thing, which is very sweet of her but actually considerably more stressful than just wearing whatever she wants me to wear. (I'm gonna hit Nordstorm's when I'm in Seattle next week, see if I can dig something up there.) And second, in communication with the other two bridesmaids, the one that I don't know was all "and I already got her bachelorette gift..." Bachelorette gift? What? I have to get her a sex-related gift on top of a wedding gift? I mean, it's not the money, but I find gift-giving incredibly fraught and stressful, so I was looking forward to just using her registry.
