Yeah. The cats and dogs would have a better chance of escaping a bear. There really is nowhere a cat can go that a fisher can't follow with hostile intent.
We get bears all the time. They like the composter. The most damage they do here is trample plants in my garden or lay in my hostas. Fishers tree raccoons all the time here. Poor little things - sad to see them in the trees fretting. Fishers climb trees like nothing and worse go down head first so their prey don't stand a chance. I go out with my dogs (on a leash) making lots of noise when that happens. The fishers usually take off pretty fast. I wouldn't corner one though.
Nice green eyes, very magnetic. When I read your sentence about the fishers, I first thought of fishermen, but couldn't understand, why would they eat cats. lol and then I looked into the dictionary and found out that you wrote about an animal similar to a weasel, that eats chickens and small rabbits in the village. I wish your little Miss to get better soon.
You tend to forget that friends from other countries might not be familiar with some of our North American creatures. It would seem you don't have then in your country. Yes they're nasty weasel types and will go after domestic pets.
We're keeping a good eye on our little girl. Thanks.

On a happier note I'm glad she's doing better.
