No end in sight (Day 227 since our first Lockdown)

We're about to go into our second lockdown and waking up this morning to American election news means good cheer is in rather short supply. Admittedly our second lockdown is not going to make an awful lot of difference to us. If I wasn't so old, I'd be looking into moving right now. Any place that speaks English, even if it's a second language. Most countries have age limits, though.

If I actually wanted to move which, bad though things are here, I don't, I might be able to use the fact that my mother was born in Australia. She never claimed her dual nationality though so that would probably scupper it.

I hope things improve for you soon.

There is zero good cheer in this household. Kansas and Missouri voted overwhelmingly for four more years of this monster in the White House. Pre-election polls showed they were too ashamed to admit they were voting this way and yet did it anyway. I am disgusted. Moving to a different country sounds really good right now.

My heart sank when I woke up this morning to the news that your election result wasn't clear cut and the result wouldn't be known for a few days. It's really hard to believe that people could want another four years of Trump but we elected Boris Johnson so are in no position to talk :(

I think that thinking of the film and the book as two different things is the only way to treat adaptations. The ones that annoy me are the ones where they have taken the title and then just ignored the book altogether but still claim it's an adaptation LOL!

That's what they did with The Dark is Rising. Bad though the Kenneth Branagh Murder on the Orient Express was, it did at least bear some resemblance to the plot of the book, if not the character of Poirot.
