Much to my surprise and shock our new router turned up on Wednesday so yesterday we set it up. All seemed fine, lots of green lights, excellent broadband coverage but when I tried to connect to the internet absolutely no joy! We tried various different permutations of sockets, locations and cables, turned it off and turned it on again, swore a lot ( Read more... )

Oh yes I adored Pete Duel - he was rather lovely wasn’t he. *sadface*

The exhibition was very interesting. There were a lot of different items to see reflecting George IV's very wide ranging interests. He may not have been a good king but he certainly enriched the Royal Collection.

Poor Pete Duel. I think our entire school went into mourning when he died. I rewatched Alias Smith and Jones a few years ago and it was fun to watch but still made me sad to think he died so young. He really shone on screen.

I stayed overnight in a library once. The Gladstone Library has rooms at the library for overnight stays. Sometimes writers will stay there for a week or more to concentrate on writing. The room was a little sparse but I liked the park next to it and the food was cheap and good at the library.

I've heard of the Gladstone Library and the fact you can stay there. It does sound like a fun thing to do. The British Museum has sleepovers but I think that is for kids otherwise I'd be tempted to try it.

There's a large park and a ruin of a castle within easy walking distance. The funny thing is that I stayed there one night and mrs. leary was going to stay there the next night for a week and we didn't even realize it until she said something much later.

What an amazing coincidence. I subscribe to something that gives me a discount on staying at Gladstone's Library but I hadn't really thought about doing it. Perhaps I should!
