What I'm Reading Wednesday

I don't seem to have done this for a while. I would have done it last week but last Wednesday I was in London having a very jolly lunch with archaeologist_d and camelittle and then on Thursday I was having a less jolly time at the optician. My short-sightedness is actually getting better, which ought to be a good thing, but isn't as it means I need new glasses. I had the ( Read more... )

Bring up the bodies was a good read, I'm sure lots of people are waiting for the final volume.

Guns of August does seem appropriate to read this Summer, doesn't it.

It really does and I loved A Distant Mirror so I've been wanting to read Guns of August for ages.

One of the reasons I've delayed reading Bring Up the Bodies is so that I don't have so long to wait until the final volume :)

Lenses for glasses are so incredibly expensive when you have to have varifocals - I couldn't believe how much my new glasses cost (though the frames weren't cheap either!).

Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies are on my TBR list, but I'll probably wait for the last one to be published before I dive into them.

My lenses are made worse by the fact that they aren't just varifocals but photochromic as well. Fortunately I can spread the payment a bit, but they are still horrendously expensive. I'm trying to tell myself that three pairs would have been worse.

The price of my last pair was bad, but these are worse. Still, if I will buy designer frames...

Many hugs back :)

Glad you had a great lunch with camelittle and archaelogist_d. That's great!

The price of the glasses sounds like it sucks, but at least your eye sight is getting better.

I was hoping I would get away with not needing new lenses this time around, but I was out of luck.

It's always great to meet LJ people :)
