If it's Thursday it must be the Wednesday Book Meme!

I missed Wednesday again! We've been quite busy recently and Niece R and Boyfriend M have just moved in to stay with my mum while they look for a flat. Cue Mum's house dropping to pieces or rather, long neglected chickens coming home to roost. Fortunately Niece R realised that, despite the water pouring through the kitchen ceiling, Granny was far ( Read more... )

Many thanks :)

I am definitely planning on removing myself from any chaos even if it's only for the day of our anniversary!

I think why I am enjoying the Ben Aaronovitch novels so much is that they are such familiar places he's describing. I've worked all over London and it's so much fun to have a better idea in your head when he's describing what they are doing ;)

Sorry to hear about the house woes! I hope your mum has good insurance!

She wondered about claiming on the insurance too. Unfortunately I think it's a case of my parents not choosing to deal with something they should have done, so I'm not sure the insurance would pay out. At the moment no more of the kitchen ceiling has fallen down, though there was already a large hole from a previous leak elsewhere. Ironically I think the insurance would have covered that but nobody bothered about it. Sigh...

I love the Ben Aaronovitch's novels for that reason too. I'm not quite so familiar with the Notting Hill setting of part of this novel, but I certainly know Oxford Circus Tube Station!

I love the way London is a character in the Aaronovitch novels, too. :)

Hugs hugs! Happy anniversary weekend!

Many thanks :)

There are so many moments in the Ben Aaronovitch novels where I just nod because he's got London so exactly right.

Many hugs back.

My pleasure. It was a lovely fic.

Now I'm wondering what happened when they got to Camelot... :)

They lived happily ever after together until they were old and decrepit. ;)

Thanks :) The anniversary is actually on Tuesday but, weather permitting, we're hoping to be out that day.

I'm completely gobsmacked at how much PL fic there is to read. I thought it would see me through into next year, now I think it will be the year after!
