Done(ish)

"Finished" my draft of ACCURSED last night.

By that I mean I got back to THE END for the second time.

Then I pulled out my Beat Sheet and began page calculations (yes, I'm using algebra to fix my pacing-- thanks Mr. Nic! (8th Grade Algebra Teacher)). So now I know which pages I want/need certain beats to fall on (which means I know where I need ( Read more... )

Congrats on finishing a round of revision. And on working on something new.

I think it's great to mix creative writing in with revision.

I took a look at Darcy Pattison's site but to be honest ~ it felt overwhelming. I don't doubt for one minute that it would be useful, but my first impression is that it's like going back to school & quite daunting.

Since my novel is a WIP I'm nowhere near ready for the Big Revision. I may return to DP ~ I can see the point; it's just so much to take in. Just the home page reads like a scientific formula!

But thanks for the link ~ I've book marked it.

I don't use her website itself very often, but I use her book constantly when I'm in revision. If you're not there yet, definitely not something to be looking over-- it can get overwhelming fast!
