omg those variations on the lone tree are STUNNING. so gorgeous! and so open and dry... something I find alluring now that itss the steaming humid season here.
I'm booking a flight. for 2013. OK?

Thankyou. I was very happy with those shots. Ruth took them from the car while we were going between 60 and 80kph and through the window. I enjoyed trying out some dramatic processing stuff on them. They remind me of an album cover.

It is always reasonably dry around here. Nowhere near as humid as on the coast. This year was a really wet one. The road to town flooded 6 or 7 times this summer.
So the landscape is actually much wetter than it looks here. The grass in the paddocks has gone to seed and is all orangey/brown. We were fascinated how green everything looked through most of summer.
Gum trees are always a greeny grey though so the landscape rarely gets vivid green.

I'm sure by 2013 it will be back to it's arid self though. At least this side of the ranges.

If you're serious we'd love to show you our patch of this wide brown land.

It's an impressive looking tree. There's nowhere near it to stop though so they're taken through the window while we're driving.
I did like playing around with the processing in Photoshop.
