Fandom and how I wish people could play nice.

Sorry. I didn't mean to make people fret about this at all.
There was nothing big in the first place that I saw it's just everywhere. All over multiple fandoms and on other sites. It's also in schools and most work places.
I just wish people could be nicer to each other.

I've said my piece and moved on. I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just don't see the need to hurt anyone else while you voice it.

I know people can often get hurt when no offence was meant. It's really hard to get the right meaning from a piece of writing. Without tone and body language there to help.

I'm sure there is plenty of stuff I say or do that pisses people off. I do try to avoid unnecessary nastiness though.

I've never been directly involved in wank before now, which I'm glad about. It's just ridiculous, fandom is supposed to be fun!

Hope the mentioned sank on my journal hasn't made you think less of me :(

I wasn't even really talking about specific instances here. There does seem to be a lot of shit being slung from both sides of that conflict.

But there's nasty stuff all over right now. I've seen it in different ships and fandoms and sites. It was just a general statement about how I wish people could just be a bit nicer to each other.

I wasn't around to see what happened on your journal. I don't really know what went down. This post wasn't about that in particular.

I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Everyone has a different one and I don't think that people should be attacked because of them.

This post wasn't about telling any one off or making people feel bad. I was just talking about my views of fandom and how I wish everyone could be nicer to each other.

YOU are the innocent in all of this! Don't let anyone make you think otherwise!! I, on the other hand, need a whipping for being such a dumbass who has diarrhea of the mouth (fingers?) sometimes, and caused such a huge uproar with a stupid comment I didnt think about before I posted. I had no idea SO MUCH was going to come of it (and was hoping nothing would after deleting the comment a few minutes after I posted it, then not responding to any of the other comments). GOD I feel so horrible for all of this and had to say again that I'm sorry for starting the snowball that has turned into wank. I hope people aren't giving you problems about this or I am going to have to split some fucking heads!!!!

And if there is anything, ANYTHING I can do to help let me know. I think the best thing is for me to shut up about it! I'm sorry I just really truly feel terrible about it and I wish I could somehow do something to fix it all.

I adore the fact that with the internet and fandoms as accessible as they are, we can meet up with people from all over the world with such diverse backgrounds and squee and flail about things we all love.

To me that is wonderful. That I can feel that sense of belonging and companionship is something I'm forever grateful for.

I just wish people all over could be kinder to each other. It would solve a lot of the worlds problems.

I've avoided the Major Wank. It's just the little things, the snipey comments and it all adds up to being nasty to people.

Fandom can be such an amazing place. There are so many wonderful things that come out of it.

I adore the fact that with the internet and fandoms as accessible as they are, we can meet up with people from all over the world with such diverse backgrounds and squee and flail about things we all love.

I would like to think that I am without wank.
There is enough of it in real life and that is why I come here to LJ - to meet people who like HP, read great fic and see great fanart, and for my friends to share some of my mundane life with me.
