Dear LJ: Just so you know, I don't Twitter . Not now, not in the future. So, please, don't bother me with some annoying pop-up asking me if I want my posts to appear there. Can we just let "LJ be LJ" and not be constantly trying to improve it? IJS....

Sincerely, Katewallace

Thank you! There are times that it seems like that some people are so obsessed with the idea of 'social media-ing' that they lose sight of the fact that they have no time to 'socialize' with other people at all! And the idea that my detergent or shampoo or cereal has to have a Facebook page or a
Twitter feed is ludicrous...I buy the shampoo because I like how it works on my hair, and half the time I buy the cereal because it's on sale or I have a coupon. I don't need to interact with either one on some social media site to be persuaded to purchase them. How about we direct our energies to cleaning up the environment and helping those less fortunate that we are? But this is just me being cranky....

BTW...congrats on the raise! Way to go! *hugs*

(So, of course, at the bottom of the reply box we now have the opportunity to repost to both of the above. You know,LJ, there's a reason that my 'real' name isn't on the top of the page of my Journal...so why in the world would I want to repost anything from here to anywhere else? ( ... )

Cranky or not, I totally agree with you, social networking is so out of control that people are barely being social at all....they live behind cool fake names and possibly whole fake lives. I'm a little disappointed at LJ for going this route but I just wont use it and move on....I wont protest. There are probably a bunch of people who are so excited about the whole thing.

Thanks for the congrats, I am really excited about the future : )

Thank you! And I'm so excited for you, too. I'm glad your boss recognized your contributions to the organization and rewarded you for them. Happy Thursday! (It's my day off...I'm stoked!)
