So this guy comes through the drive-thru tonight and orders some chicken. When asked if he wants some sauce for dipping, he says, "Yes, I'd like as many Ranch sauce as you can give me." So the young man taking his order replies: "I can give you three but then I have to charge you for any more after that." Which is our policy and is clearly stated

Some people's sense of privilege astounds me. Does it bother me that I sometimes get charged for those things? Sure. But the company has to pay for them, and they need enough for everyone who orders, and three is a nice number to get for free....I usually never use more than two but whatever.

I understand giving them to stop the inevitable headache that would've risen when you charged him, but he was a jerk.

Yeah, he was and I draw the line at some things..one lady came through drive-thru and we asked her to pull ahead to wait for her order and she announced "Well, I should get another large fry for free because I had to wait." Uh...no. She didn't get the free fry. Sometimes peoples' sense of entitlement makes me want to scream! And because we live in a fairly small community, lots of people claim to 'know' our owner-operator, and they think they should get special favors because of this. I sincerely doubt he knows two-thirds of the county!
