And the discussions are starting already.
"Why not Ix?" - "What?"
"Why not Megan?" - "It's too plain."
It's not that I'm averse to naming the sprog after a literary character. It’s really not. However, I'd like a name that is going to minimize the teasing and trauma. I know, that no matter what we name him or her, they are going to be teased.

Also, your resident century is very rude if they make fun of names like Ix. That's simple, that's cute! Then again, we've got planets like Rexacoricovallapatorius in the future, so who can go around making fun of names?
Anyway, can we rule out things with excessive misuse of I and Y? That is so not clever.

I don't condone teasing someone based on their name. However, it's very easy to find ways to make fun of names like Michael, Anne or Sarah. Ix? That's just asking for it. I can't say much about names either but Ix? Nickname, yes?
That we can agree on. It's not clever. The sprog won't be able to find anything ever with his/her name on it.

Kate, I'm not a twenty-first century caveman who's opposed to doing some washing up. And you don't have to reward good behavior, I'm already trained. (But I won't say no!)
I think I'd rather teach my child to not be bothered by teasing, rather than attempting to find a name that isn't conducive for it. I'm kind of assertive like that, sorry. We'll agree on something eventually.

I know. But you also need your sleep. (Oh. But I want to. I think you deserve the tongue thing.)
(You need to show me just how assertive you are Captain Harkness.) Yes, learning to throw a good punch is neccesary anyway that you look at it. It's all well and good to teach them that and you should. However... You know what? We have seven months and some change, we'll find a name.
