Baby Names

And the discussions are starting already.

"Why not Ix?" - "What?"

"Why not Megan?" - "It's too plain."

It's not that I'm averse to naming the sprog after a literary character. It’s really not. However, I'd like a name that is going to minimize the teasing and trauma. I know, that no matter what we name him or her, they are going to be teased. Hey! Soapy Cat! That doesn't mean we need to add to the mix!

Megan is not too plain. It's nice, it's pretty and it's simple. It's also Welsh in origin. Speaking of Welsh names, a lot of them start with Gwen or Gwyn? WTF?

I'm not going to be one of those mothers who adds unnecessary vowels and consonants because they think it makes the name clever or unique. Kellye? Bryttani? Raychelle? WTF?

Just think! We have seven more months of these kinds of conversations! Yay!

Also, Jack's friend Ears has taken up residence in one of the guest rooms. It wasn't safe what he was doing and considering how close he is to Jack, well it seems natural. I wonder if he has any other clothes? Hrm. I will also need to make more banana nut muffins or maybe banana bread. Oh, banana ice cream. Yum.

What is it with his friends and bananas?

the sprog, ears, cap'n jack, baking, cardiff
