Noreascon Program Notes

Aug 27, 2004 22:11

Don't mind me, I'm not really posting content, just dumping possible Noreascon panels of interest somewhere where I can find them later.

Hey, prince_eric: you coming to this? Friday night dinner, even if you aren't?
everything looks so interesting )

Not only those, but there's a ton of stuff that I'd find interesting in another forum but have determined from experience I wouldn't care for on a panel.

Plus the parties and dealer's room and art show and stuff.

If I didn't have so much fucking work!

(If only. My outrage got away from me. Clearly it's time for bed.)

I was so happy to see that they'd moved the Mary Sue panel to a time when I'll actually be in Boston, rather than in the air.

I was so frustrated to see that I not only will I be in Boston, but I'll be on a programming item .

That's a great list, btw. I followed the link back to see what the rest of the programming track looks like -- it's, ummm, huge.

Isn't it? I didn't really have the time to do that last night, but I figured if I didn't do it now, then I'd get to the con, look at the program, and just freeze up in a little ball overwhelmed by all the possibilities.

I hope we bump into each other at MKK's party, or some other time.

You're right about Brust, of course, but I hadn't noticed the gender skew either until I saw that question.

(If only Robins' latest Austen-noir would be out before then! Not that I think it's _quite_ FoM, but because the first was so good and then I could burble to her afterward.)

I didn't realize I might want to go to the Eos talk until I saw their list of authors. I still might not (and DAW is only on there so I can harass them about sartorias's book!), but I was a little surprised, too.

Walter Jon William did a FoM trilogy about an Allowed Burglar...

The Drake Maijstraal books! I love those, and yes, very mannered. I suppose the source material, Panshin's Anthony Villiers novels, would also count.

Do not, under any circumstances, miss William Tenn's reading of "On Venus, Have We Got a Rabbi." It's Thursday at 10, and it's truly priceless.

Now I am suffering Worldcon envy.

Really? Okay, then. I can't promise I'll remember if the party is going well, but I'll try.

Hah, yes, that copy was sitting on my bedstand for a while and every time I saw that statement I wanted to say "no!"

But then I've never read any Swanwick.

The spare Heyer was _Venetia_, though I have managed to get it through ILL so it's no longer urgent.
