[Meme] 30-Day Earrings: Day 01
Last art dump post I made, I may have mentioned how I made two art pieces for my law school's art show: one large digital illustration and the other a wire sculpture.
[2012] The Beadsmith's Tree
I think I might have went a little overboard with the curly-cuing and the beads to the point where it only vaguely resembles a tree. Quite frankly, it has no other purpose but to look shiny and kind of creepy--but I suppose it did come in handy for this meme though, so there's that.
Onward to earrings?
DAY 01: FAVOURITE EARRINGS
Dimensions (not including earring hooks): 1.2cm x 1.5cm
My infatuation with gears and steam punk all sort of concentrates in this single pair. Seriously love these earrings to death. Purchased them in 2011 as a reward to myself for surviving the first year of law school. (Actually, no, that's a lie. I bought these during finals--whilst studying for Civil Procedure in fact--alongside 7 other pairs of earrings.) They're handcrafted, made of old watch mechanisms (the little gears on the bottom right still spin in fact) and are great conversation starter pieces. Am also having this sinking feeling that these earrings might make multiple appearances on this meme. Oh dear.
