I love fics that bring events of S4.5 back to the start of S1, "all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again". And I do truly believe that the kind of intimacy Bill Adama would demand would be as daunting to Laura as that first jump beyond the red line -- here there be dragons indeed.

Daunting is such a fabulous word.

And I do truly believe that the kind of intimacy Bill Adama would demand would be as daunting to Laura as that first jump beyond the red line -- here there be dragons indeed.

I want to say, So Say We All, but it seems so small.

Here there be dragons. And tilting at windmills, indeed.

I love this!! It's such a fantastic, powerful scene. Wonderful lines in particular,Like miniature soldiers fighting a war, they held the line, awaiting her command. I love the military image this evokes, it's perfect. Love her reasoning out that she doesn't have much time and she has to squeeze through that small window. The ending with just the word "jump" just about jumped off the screen at me. That is the perfect thought for Laura at this moment, she did indeed have to jump and she did. Great work!! Did I mention I loved it!!

You mentioned one of my favorite lines.

And Jump seemed just the right jolt. As it was way back then it is now, too.

Whoa, brilliant! I'm never sure if I hate that scene or what" but this is a genius take on it. You rock.

For me, it was one of the most powerful, pivotal scenes in the entire series. You can see that she struggles with her decision. And that is what rips my heart out.

I have always viewed that scene as Laura taking back control of her life, making the decision to spend whatever time she has left living on her terms so it's always felt like a positive scene to me.

I love the way you have depicted it here, looking at what Laura has lost, what she is losing but finally coming to what she has found, the peace she has made with herself and the realisation that being with Bill is her priority now.

This is a great use of the prompt and like frakcancer I love that idea of bringing things full circle from events in '33'.

Wonderful work as always. Thank you.

I believe that Laura needed to live life on her own terms. And in this scene, she took back control.

Full circle. From the beginning all the way to the end.

Your 'less is more' maxim is so, so true here. I love the spareness of this. It is so fitting to the scene. What I love about BSG is that they can have these huge battles and ridiculous cgi centurions when really the best parts of the show were these little, often wordless moments. I loved how Laura keeps looking around even though she clearly alone. She just knows that if Bill were there he would stop her and argue with her.

I love the mathematical simplicity here--it so Laura to boil it down and then make the inevitable conclusion.

Yes, I'm a big believe in 'less is more.' I felt the prompt was stark & I felt the need to be very minimal & raw. You could see Laura actually make the decision to do this--sweep all of her meds into the trash. She waffled... (I think because she knew Bill would argue with her decision) And it was such a shock to me when she finally did it. It seemed as if such a weight was lifted from her shoulders. The scene is one of my favorite moments from the show. It was all about moments for me, not battles or special effects...
