Thirty-three weeks of diloxin treatments.
She’d lost her appetite, her hair, her free will.
Thirty-three bottles of pills.
Like miniature soldiers fighting a war, they held the line, awaiting her command.
They were losing.
She stared at the small pharmacy of meds on the table. Then taking a deep breath, she swept them into the trash and hoped he would understand.
Thirty-three minutes.
She remembered fearing that small window of time might be all they had left.
All she had left.
With him.
Their beginning would have ended.
It was all about timing.
Time.
Hers with him was now.
Jump.
