I liked how this came together, nice bit of case fic and a little romance. i liked that Sam was the one that convinced Dean not to give up, even if he doesn't have a soul. :)
Oh, I'm glad you mentioned this. I'd missed it. Wonderful writing, here -- I love the balance you hit between tenderness and caring and hurt. This whole story rings incredibly true to me. I love the way you approach the hurt/comfort, too. It is, but it's so restrained and true to the characters.
I know you're not doing the fandom thing with SPN much lately, but I'd been wondering if this story conveyed at all what I'd hoped, or if I'd missed the boat entirely. Your comment made me feel that maybe I did get it somewhere in the vicinity, so thanks muchly!
I've noticed that the more I watch SPN and read the fiction, the more I become a confirmed Dean/Sam OTP person, and that anytime I write them the most interesting thing for me is their interactions.
