Dear brakes, stop sucking. My brakes started making a low grinding sound a couple of days ago. In my experience, this is decidedly Not Good. The last time (40k miles ago), it required a new brake drum, or rotor, or something, to the tune of $1500. Please please be something simple and cheap to fix. Edit: $460 - not so bad.
