Just to make it obvious *points at pic below*, here we go AGAIN with pictures from Schwerin (even though I'm sure you've all had your share of castle pics by now ^^;;; )
Obviously the lakes are a great asset to the area. I love forests, and Germany has some of the nicest ones. The castle appears to abut the lake on one side, but has imposing gardens on the other.
Thank you. And yes, the lakes are very important. Schwerin is also called "The city of seven lakes and forests" (even though there are more lakes, but...)
Actually, the castle is built on a tiny island and can be reached via two bridges. In the first picture (the one where the castle is at the end of the garden), you can't see the bridge, but there is one and it connects the garden with the castle ^_^
Erst mal Japan, danach steht Madrid auf der Liste ^^;;;

We spent a lot of afternoons in the castle garden, back when I still went to school. It's really nice and peaceful.

When you use the stairs inside the castle I always imagine how it must have been walking down those stairs with THOSE gowns *g*
You're welcome!

Also want to let you know that it's my turn to leave: going to France for a couple of weeks.

Where are you going? I think the south should be nice at this time of the year?
