You made me homesick! I used to live on the right bank of the Seine, not far from that small statue of Liberty. Nowadays, I usually stay at a hotel right by the Ecole Militaire, close to the Eiffel Tower gardens.

Your pictures are great [and you look very good as well]. For Versailles, when I have taken people there, my rule is to get there at the opening. People who griped about the early departure from the hotel were grateful when they saw the lines later.

You need a good "Plan de Paris", the booklet form kind. Then you will never get lost.

I tried to leave early, but somehow this and that got in our way and we ended up leaving the hotel much later than planned. Oh well... luckily we were only on my (military) schedule and not on a real one *ggg*

Awwww... I envy you for living there!

We had a not that bad map, actually two, but the small streets we got lost in had no names on those maps -.-;;;
So we'd have needed a much bigger map, which would have weight more. We found the hotel in the end ^_^

Thank you ^_________^

I think, the royal castles do look alike up to some point.
Ah, and! from maybe 1650 - 1800 the French were THE Royals to be reckoned with and had a MAJOR influence on the other royalties all over Europe. All important persons spoke French etc. Everybody kind of copied their castles and design.

And they kind of look the same, because all Royals took the money from the people, invested that into gold and colour and used it to make the castles look pretty.
