I think I moved 10 times in my life already, so I know exactly what you are talking about. Luckily it's just 1.5 km down the street, so hopefully we can pack, transport it there, unpack and re-use the box. Saves us some costs too, as boxes cost money ^^;;;
I was surprised by what you said about boxes costing money.
In the US, when you move, you just go to the liquor store, or the supermarket, and ask for boxes, and they give you piles of cardboard boxes free. I have had to buy extra bubble wrap and sealing tape, of course.

I have moved many times, and always found the packing takes a really long time. And you never write enough on the cartons what is inside!

i just read an article in the newspaper about moving today.
packing is such a hassle but at least you'll have a lot of time to prepare :D

Sometimes you can get boxes at supermarkets for free too, but they are of a lesser quality...
