I'd understand the phrase "poor fansubbers" as meaning "poor fansubbers who have the ambition to translate everything they possibly can", so 50 hours screentime poses quite the challenge to that ambition. As a subber, I'd definitely not take it as insulting or demeaning or anything
( ... )
It's not like anybody holds a gun to the fansubber's heads. Whatever they sub, they sub because they want to. No need to go all "poor them", imo. End of story.

all the poor fansubbers comments are just confusing me o.0 why are they assuming that fansubbers will even want to sub everything? i guess arashi fandom has a gajillion fansub groups and with most everyone wanting teh intarnets fame, they'll be competing with each other to sub all 50 hours. so maybe those assumptions aren't entirely off at all :x
Sometimes I feel people living abroad put too much pressure on themselves to catch/watch everything their group is in. Interesting thought and I agree. I can't imagine myself actually sitting in front of a tv in Japan trying to catch the morning news about my idol group o___o;;; but if it's going to be sitting in some clubbox, I'll look for it and dl it :D;;;

*blushes* Actually I did set my alarm to wake up at 6 AM, just to catch Takki there - but I was on my holidays and in Japan for just a few weeks ^^;;;;;; Hmm... I think if I'd knew they'd be on TV and my usual routine would require getting up at that time anyway, I might turn on the TV. I often had the TV on in the morning when I still went to school, nowadays though... NOT *g*
hehehe don't get me wrong - i'm sure if i was there on holiday, i would be camping out in front of the tv for the novelty of it too! heck, i even went through all the trouble of figuring out peercast once to tune into tsubasa's to base broadcast and it was admittedly, pretty cool. but i don't see myself trying to catch their every appearance/broadcast on a regular basis as it airs :D;;;
