Psych vs. the Mentalist

I've been overdosing on Psych lately and have noticed that a lot of people say Mentalist is a Psych rip-off, but I don't really see it. Mentalist is more of a Profiler revamp, with a cool "Psych" twist, which sets it apart from Criminal Minds, which is all about profilers.

And Psych is a lot more fun than Mentalist. ;)

I watch The Mentalist and, yeah, not a rip-off at all. In fact it's kind of the opposite of Pysch. While Shawn is pretending to be a psychic, Patrick likes to push that psychics don't exist and makes sure that people know he isn't a psychic.

Personally I think both shows are on equal footing when it comes to how fun they are. Psych is more goofy, silly, innocent fun while The Mentalist, I guess you could say, is a little more mature with a smidge of dark undertones.

I find the Mentalist a little too predictable, though I do continue to tune in to see what Jane mischief Jane will get into. :)
