Warning, May Seem Preachy

Things in my life have come to a point where I am questioning my beliefs and why I act certain ways.

Up until very recently I would react with hostility towards any mention of religion, or mention of God.

I DO believe there is/are God(s), but I also believe that we, as human beings, were given the gift of Free Will ( Read more... )

It's been roughly 25 years since I read those books.
I got that saying from one of Mercedes Lackey's books, but it's quite possible she borrowed it from elsewhere.

Well it was more one specific part/incident/scene more than a phrase or so, an illustration of that concept in action. I read them again now and then, I've always been a huge fan.

I fully agree that we were given our free will--and that we are at full liberty to make our own choices in life.

I haven't read the Koran nor the Torah, so I cannot speak for them. But as for the Bible, you are pretty much spot on. Throughout the years of compilation, translation and re-translation, some of the truths contained in the original writings have indeed been lost.
