So the holidays are here again. And with this time of year comes holiday music. And in that mix of carols, there are surely some that you just can't stand, the ones that make you change the channel or cover your ears every time they come on ( Read more... )

I agree with all of these except Feliz Navidad, which I actually always liked because it's perky.I do agree it needs more lyrical expansion though :-P

My all-time most-hated Christmas song is still, STILL Paul McCartney's "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmastime". Every time I hear the "whaaa whaa" of those stupid synthesizers I want to scream :-P I did a list like this a year or two ago and nothing's really change. I believe the "Christmas Shoes" song is on my hate list too :)

I will consider myself lucky for having never heard numbers 3 and 4 and will for now, I think, avoid changing that. :) But I wholeheartedly agree with the others.

But what about Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey, I adore that movie (although I don't know this Dominic song)? Christmas Donkeys make total sense to me as they are stable animals.

Santa is the daddy in I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause, so there's no cheating, and I don't think the child in the song knows what cheating is, I see it as very innocent. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of the Jackson 5 cover of that song, but I find the song itself harmless.

I wonder how you feel about Mele Kalikimaka, as it's got Hawaiian in it.

But the kid doesn't know that Santa is really Daddy. At that age, it's "Mommy's making out with Santa while Daddy's asleep."

As for "Mele Kalikimaka," I'm actually alright with that one. It's got more than two lines of lyrics, and only two words are actually in Hawaiian anyway.
