I liked this line:
Where’s the armed militia
- the wardens of minutiae -

It sums up what I really don't like about these people.

Thank you.

The silence of those people during the instances of unidentified private goons hired by the Federal Government kidnapping US citizens in Portland and holding them without charge is literally *EXACTLY* the situation these idiots claim to be maintaining their outrageous arsenals to act upon. Seriously. You have spent YOUR ENTIRE LIVES preparing for precisely THIS moment. Finally, here's your genuine chance to make your point, to prove to everyone why this all of this was necessary. And, crickets.

So, maybe the whole libertarian thing was only ever about white landowning men getting tax breaks, and maybe the whole gun toting thing was just an over expression of too much testosterone???

Yeah.

WE SEE YOU.

Maybe it’s me, but this has sort of a “Hamilton” feel to it, which I like, but it seems a bit disjointed, unless that’s what you’re going for.

If Idol was won solely on length of entries, you’d be a shoe-in! 😉

I haven't seen Hamilton, so I don't know exactly what that means, but I know he was of the more outspoken progressives among the founding fathers, and considering far-left leaning progressives are nuts over it, I won't disagree with similarities at least in tone ( ... )

Perhaps I read slowly, or with intent, but I pulled up your entry on my phone, started the stopwatch and came right back. Even subtracting 10 seconds for going back and forth to the timer - which seems generous - it took me a touch over 4 minutes to read.

So it may indeed be your shortest piece, and it’s definitely worth the time to read it, because it’s quite good, but there you go.

The tone of your reply to my comment sounded a bit defensive. My intent was merely to be honest and slightly humorous and I didn’t mean to give offense. I apologize if it came off as negative.

I think when it comes to writing styles, be it poem, fiction, or essay, our styles are polar opposites. You’re very thorough; I write what needs to be written. I’m sure we can both take a bit of knowledge from the other. Just my thoughts.

This was wonderful. It was so full of anger, with wonderful imagery. It kept drawing me on and making me angry as well.

Thanks very much. I'm very pleased to see that particular reaction, as the point of beat poetry IS to at least disturb, if not to enrage - (there are those who say if you're not outraged, you haven't been paying attention) - so I'm grateful to know I have successfully touched a nerve, as that means I have accomplished the goal. Thank you very much for this. <3

I'm flattered, and honored, and just... WOW - thank you so much for that confidence! :-)

I don't know that I'll survive the upcoming weeks, as I know he plans on this being over before the end of August, which is going to call for some short turnaround times, and I don't know how well that will work with my process, but I promise to do my best! :-)
