5-Fingered Pause

Not that I’d suggest you should, but, if you do happen to believe Freud, you’re of the mind that everybody has some sort of unresolved psychological traumas resulting from relationships with their parents. It’s just human nature. The Oedipus complexes, daddy drama issues, you name it, we all got it. I don’t even think he really ( Read more... )

well, no, wait, actually, I am, come to think of it, though, perhaps not the way one might expect, as I color a little outside the lines of mainstream muggles in that regard, myself, so, I try not to judge too much

Me too haha

Also, I don't go out of my way to deliberately ruffle feathers, but it happens. I figure better to be myself anyway.

I thought it was interesting the way you included all the topics in your entry.

Thanks! That was mostly due to being stuck by the choices... I really wanted to write about sexual ethics, I've been milling a post of that nature around in my head long before LJ Idol, but, I sort of figured it would be the most popular option, and I didn't want mine to get lost in the mix, but, absolutely NONE of the other topics appealed to me AT ALL. Then I happened to open up an email from one of my humorous RSS feeds (thisistrue.com), and that article was the first in this month's post. When I realized how much it easily lent itself to 4 out of 5 of the topics, I just couldn't turn away the temptation ( ... )

I think I was one of three people who talked about polyamory, but we all wrote about it differently, which I thought was pretty cool. I suspect you'll get to tigrkittn's before mine. I really liked reading hers especially.

I'm surprised there was only 3. Was the 3rd Cheshire? Yeah, it's not surprising that each one took a different spin on it... my partner often says there are as many different ways to be poly as there are people who are poly.

Yeah, I really lucked out when I stumbled across this one... I got a little worried, though, when I Googled it and saw how many different varieties of the story there are out there... I wondered if it was the kind of thing that might have already made it to the Jay Leno Show or something along those lines, and whether or not a lot of people would be using it. I still haven't gotten to read any entries yet, so, I don't know if anyone has, but, I had to take advantage of the best option presented to me, so I went for it.

Glad you liked it!

Wow, I cannot imagine being the mother/wife in this story. How mortifying.

I was wondering what her deal was... she simply shrugged it off. Part of the reason I made some of the observations I did is because it's her that gives me the idea that there's is not a traditional mainstream union, as none of this seemed to affect her all that much, and, either she's a total doormat (which, I suppose is possible, considering that she's with a guy with a 2 foot rapsheet), or she understands that's just in his nature and accepts it (like Bill and Hillary ( ... )

I listed to a morning radio show on the way to work called Bob and Sheri, and shortly before 7 o'clock they feature a segment called "Morons in the News." I'm betting this guy has or will show up on there at some point.

Yeah, he could, if he didn't already, depending on how far back they go, as this happened about 4½ weeks ago now. Maybe you could influence it by sending a fax of the StLouis Strib article to their press room, if you wanted to hear it. I've done that before... a lot of times, they just read it right off your page. (Radio Press rooms are by nature lazy.) This guy would certainly qualify for that segment!

*shakeshead* Sometimes I just don't get people! If there was a Darwin award for social interaction, this guy would be on the nimination list.
