b. I'm pretty sure the consensus is that it was for targeted advertising, which is dumb as fuck to begin with. Not to mention, knowing as many genderqueer people as I do, the ignorance from the employees stung me rather a lot. I understand that they probably didn't think much of just another complaint; maybe they actually didn't understand the circumstances. But it's saddening.
They have added an 'other' option, though, so that's something.

I imagine it was for advertising. But considering they do such a crappy job with their advertisements I highly doubt it would make much of a difference. The conduct of the employee was utterly ridiculous--and I know if I was that rude to a customer that customer service job I had I would have been fired. @_@ I hate to say it but sensitivity training should be a requirement in this day and age.
I am surprised at how fast they put that other option. It totally wasn't there when I posted the journal entry. Well, at least they did change it rather than be complete and utter dicks.
