That is a good explanation--thanks for sharing the link. I'd heard they wanted residuals for streaming, and it seems only fair to me that they get it, but I didn't know the details. Now I'd like to know why the studios are being such dicks about it. Yes, I know, they want ALL the money. But still, this strike is going to cost them dear, and I bet the writers will win in the end anyway.

Unfortunately, it's hard to say exactly how dearly this will cost the studio heads, at least as far as their advertising revenues are concerned.. They're too used to thinking of the American viewing public as mindless cattle who will watch any dreck they put on, and too much of said viewing public proves them right on a regular basis. :P
