Somehow, all my shows escaped the cancellation monster, even though a few were on the bubble. I'm sorry to hear about Awake, though; midseason is such a tough time to make it!

I'll glad for you! Glad that someone still has shows they enjoy. Now I must get into Vampire Diaries (never seemed to have time for it, having done my time with Buffy and (some) Angel). Saw that you wrote about the finale but didn't want to spoil myself. Which do you think is stronger: VD or True Blood? As I've only seen clips of both?

Yeah, my theory is that they released AWAKE midseason to give it a shot and I think it did okay...up until SCANDAL also popped up. Sigh.

Hmm, that is a good question! I think they are extremely different tonally, so it's hard to compare. True Blood is fun and silly in a satiric way, but not all that deep at the end of the day. Vampire Diaries is also silly, but can be surprisingly deep at times, and has better arcs and plot twists. It does spend a lot narrative time on its relationships and love triangles, though; I really dig this because, let
s face it, at heart I am 14 years old--but I know it can get wearing for some people.

(I will tell you, though, that TVD has recently developed a relationship that hits all of my G/M buttons. I'm intrigued despite myself. Oy!)

Interesting. Thanks! Will have to check it out.

Oh no! You had to invoke G/M? You taunting temptress, you! Now I will *have* to see it & catch up. Oy indeed! ;-)

So sad about Awake... for one glorious season, two of my favorite actors, Jack Davenport and Jason Issacs, had big roles in weekly shows ( ... )

I know, me too! Jack Davenport and Jason Issacs, BOTH on U.S. TV? Too good! Well, at least one is still here, as SMASH was re-upped. I will say nothing about the finale so as not to spoil you. ;-) and hopefully Issacs lands on his feet, as he had an Exec. credit. Not sure if that was negotiated or if he invested some of the Harry Potter money, but...fingers crossed for more CASE HISTORIES...or some other roles worthy of his abilities ( ... )

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, I'm sorry, vännen! :-( KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!

I'm lucky enough to have Sherlock S3, Downton Abbey S3 and The Big Bang Theory S6 to look forward to! HAPPY! Mind you, I can't remember when I last was THAT lucky, which makes me angsty and wonder in which series disaster and heartbreak will strike first. Oh, right. SH + DA = BBC. Heartbreak is a given! ;-P

**SH + DA = BBC.**
HA! THAT made me laugh. Thank you, min vän!

But of course...angst is bound to strike.
BUT... We will also get Downton 3 in Jan. and Sherlock 3 next May (we're in 2 now. YAY!)
AND SHIRLEY MACLAINE WILL BE IN DOWNTON3!!!! WHOO HO! Oh the sparring between Shirls and Maggie Smith will be so delicious! I. cannot. WAIT! The anticipation...... ;-)

Kraaaam, sotnus!

Shirley MacLaine and Dame Maggie Smith will be so awesome that I think all superheros will be redundant. Honestly. Just send in those awesome ladies and crime will drop off for good! >;-)

Oh, hey! I came by to see if you had updated lately and what to my wondering eyes would appear but a fresh post! :-D

I don't really watch a lot of TV shows, and the ones I do watch I tend to get into when they're either off the air or almost over. :-D Sherlock is one exception; I'm not "into it" to the extent of being in the fandom or reading fanfic, except for two or three stories (the fandom is 99% Sherlock/John slash, which really isn't my cup of tea), but I really like it, and I'm looking forward to watching S2 (still haven't seen any of it but planning to watch 2x01 on PBS.org soon). Still haven't seen S2 of Downton Abbey. I'm currently watching Dr. Who (am near the end of Season 4) as well as Robin of Sherwood, the predecessor of "our" Robin Hood that aired in the 1980s.

(Speaking of which, are you still interested in any RH fandom stuff? If you are, I have some good recs for you...)

Hi! Good to hear from you. Yup, I seemingly only visit every couple of months or so, at this rate. Whenever I come up for air and catch up... Apparently folks are getting married, and moving, and...life goes on ( ... )

LOL, now I can't remember -- did I ever send you those RH recs or not? By the way, I did watch S2 of Sherlock; Lara was great, and I do enjoy the show, buuuuut .... I don't know, somehow I'm just not connecting to it emotionally. Maybe because this version of Sherlock is just too sociopathic. :-D

I did want to remind you that recently was the third anniversary of the RH finale... and if you feel like stopping by the RH forum thread about that, that would be great. (There's also an awesome video in the first post that should, at least, be guaranteed to respark your RH love. Hehe.

Hope to see you there!

Actually I've already seen the first two episodes of Sherlock Season 2, and I thought Lara Pulver was amazing, but I have to say I had some misgivings about the episode itself and especially the way her character was written. If you're interested, we're having a rather animated discussion here on the RH Yuku board -- feel free to join in!

We also have a thread about Robin of Sherwood, and ravenya03 and I have been posting our reviews. I'd be very curious to see your take -- unfortunately, I can't say I'm too impressed with Michael Praed's Robin! Yes, Praed is pretty hot and I can appreciate the long-haired rocker look, lol...but I just found the character so one-dimensional, I didn't think he got very much to work with as an actor. I actually prefer Jason Connery's Robin, to be honest! I also love Ray Winstone and Judi Trott as Marion with an O. :D Robert Addie's Gisburne has been growing on me as well, though I still prefer the BBC's Robin Hood in everything other than the costumes and settings -- the characters and the dynamics ( ... )
