Accidentally started a new project tonight
I have been wanting a "pocket" like the ones in the Norrbotten folk costumes from 1912 for a while now. Tonight I realized that I need something semi formal to wear to K&H's wedding in not quite two weeks. Snow!
When we left home Saturday morning it was snowing wet snow, but we had, made it more than 15 minutes south before that switched to blended snow and rain, and by the time we reached David's parent's house (45 min south of us) it was more rain than snow and it mostly rained for much of Christmas Eve. Julafton
It is 09:00 the morning of Christmas Eve. And we are driving down to David's parent's place. It has recently started snowing, the tiny, wet flakes that are not so very removed from rain, so it is kinda sticking to the road, but there isn't much of it yet ( Read more... ) -
I wonder if the others were as good?
Sweden has an interesting Christmas tradition "Julkalendern" that I somehow didn't notice at all till last year, when they did "Tusen år till julafton*" (Thousand years till Christmas Eve)Just as some famlies have an Advent Calendar, Sweden has one for the whole country--every day in the weeks leading up to Christmas there is a new 10 minute ( Read more... ) -
A nice Saturday
I woke up around 07:00 this morning, which gave me time to do my morning workout before we had our house meeting (a chance for the 3 of us to sit down and discuss how things are going and upcoming plans, etc). Elddyrkan
I am just home from Eldyrkan, a Fire show by my beloved jester group, Phire, and Wow, am I impressed. Keep in mind that these are the same people who gave me a little fire show for my birthday on the weekend, and who performed at Norrskensfesten this year, and last. my sixth Luciatåg
This morning was our traditional Luicatåg, for which our Choir has been preparing since October. Even though the choir numbers had been up this year compared to recent years, we still only had ten of us for today's performance, 4 altos, and two each of the other voices. five tenth birthday parties in one day
Since my birthday happened to fall on a Saturday this year I booked the Gillestuga in Gammelstad for a party. The up side to this was a much larger room than we have at home, so it was possible to have both space for dancing and a bunch of tables pushed together in a square big enough for a dozen or so people to sit around and have all the food in ( Read more... )
