Why do I go anywhere but lj?  Why?  WHY?  I should just stay here where it's safe and you all get it.

Because I swear, I am thisclose to smacking heads.  Why is it so hard for other people to understand the words that I am typing.  Do they not teach reading comprehension anymore?

So I've been commenting that last night's Being Human US series finale ( Read more... )

Now, Kat, you know that real women don't have any agency that isn't given to them by a man and that they can't possibly ever do anything for themselves.

Women who manage to do anything are obviously fictional superheroines who could never EVER exist in the real world.

Unlike vampires.

Or werewolves.

It gets even better. From last episode- when Annie confronts her muderous ex-fiance in the UK version, he walks in and she's waiting for him. George and Mitchell are at her back, but silent. They're there for support, but it's all Annie. She's calm, she's not intimidated by him in the least any more, and she completely pwns his ass. He basically shits himself before running off and going crazy ( ... )

I know I have more agency when I can't be seen and the men in my life are in front of me....

OMG WTF. I seriously think these are the same deluded people who view River Song as "the convenient mistress who goes away when she's not needed" people. I hates them all.

LJ ate my last two comments. Let's see if this one goes through...

ITA about the finale. I was SO hoping Sally would be the one to kill Bishop or at least assist Aidan in killing him. But nope. Her role in the finale was to make adorably sad faces at the boys while they prepared to fight for each other. Now, I love her face but come on, give her SOMETHING! Especially since they took away her agency in the major confrontation scene last week.

As for the fandom's reaction...Sad to say, fandom majority will almost always make you sad or piss you off. Best to stick to your flist and comms where people might actually share your opinions.

OH THANK GOD. I am also very irritated by Sally's non-role in the season finale!

ETA: Annie was not superpowered in the original. Annie came into her power in the finale. Annie is a motherfucking badass poltergeist. The fact that she is also sweet and darling and acts like everything is sunshine and rainbows is all about her personality, and she's awesome just the way she is. Which is as a badass poltergeist. And there's nothing wrong with that.
