This does not have nearly enough spelling and grammatical errors for what you were trying to achieve. ;)

It's interesting to read this though, as a J/I shipper who was extremely dissappointed with CoE -- but who also loves Gwen and definitely did NOT want a fluffy curtains-style ending for Jack and Ianto. I'll admit that before CoE I was thinking that Rhys might die, but the reason I liked that idea was NOT because I wanted Gwen punished or anything, but because I thought it might open the way for canon J/G/I, which I think would have been awesome (and completely fucked up). So yeah, it's interesting to see the extent to which my personal preferences align with your perception of a basher's view, and the extent to which they don't align with that at all.

I know you're not a basher. *HUGS* In fact, I've noticed from afar and with admiration your attempts to talk sense to the fringier factions of the fandom. You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din. (Of course they probably think the same of your dialogue with me.)

I appreciate you reading this and offering your opinion. Even though it was best attempt at "domestic/fluffy" it was never going to be "true fluff," hence my labeling it as crack.

F/W/I/W-my costume for Come As You're Not, may or may not fulfill your interest in J/I/G. It's actually considerably closer to "true fluff" than this is. I know that sounds paradoxical, but you'll have to wait and see.

Thanks as always for reading and commenting.

Haha, see, I am careful to keep all my most whiny and childish rants about CoE behind a flock and under a cut, so as not to the general public to them (though, of course, still no Gwen-bashing in there). :P

I've actually found that I have an easier time writing straight-out fluff when it's J/G/I, rather than J/I -- something about the three of them together sends my fluff-mode into overdrive, even though I usually manage to keep it in check.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your Halloween costume -- for mine, I'm strongly considering some J/G wedding night sex (that is, on Gwen and Rhys's wedding night, while the others are cleaning up).

I could not believe my eyes when I saw you had written J/I... I wasn't sure what I'd find, but I love this, much to my surprise. I'm in awe of the way you took the dream wedding and turned it into a nightmare. (Lord knows what that says about me.)

Thank you sweetie! It's amazing what I'll do for a meme and what my evil wenches wonder f-list will egg me into.

Glad you liked it. And if this shocked you, wait'll you see what I'm dishing up for Halloween.

I saw the pairing and I went 'whut?!' then I read the summary and I thought, 'this I gotta see!'
Glad I made the effort - and pleased to see that you couldn't abandon dark and uncomfortable even in a so-called fluffy crack fic.

I am going to be bringing a cushion to hide behind/to collapse on for Halloween, I think I might need it!

It was probably never gonna be "pure fluff," but I gave it my best go. I mean there's plenty of stuff in there for a J/I true-believer, at least until I pull the rug out. If they really think that Jack could ever love Ianto as much as he does the Doctor, then they should be able to hand-wave it, right?

Thanks for reading and commenting.

You're free to bring your cushion, but I promise lots of comfy sofas as well, suitable for both collapsing and hiding behind.

That? Is fucking scary. Right from the very start.

Really? I'm not sure that was exactly my intention, although I knew it was getting considerably darker than what most people would consider "fluffy."

Thanks for reading and commenting.

I think it's just that Jack's giving up SO much here, and you say he's happy but don't give any evidence for it so I have to assume he's faking it for Ianto's sake.

...Probably it wouldn't be scary if I was a shipper and actually believed Jack could be happy giving all that up for Ianto. *g*

Well the idea was to start with the premise that the shippers are right, and he does love Ianto and my idea of real!Jack is completely wrong. Unfortunately I think that once he sees the Doctor the whole illusion is destined to crumble.

So it's really a "careful what you wish for" story.

Jack's very worst nightmares coming true. Getting married? Being stuck with Ianto? Worse than any Halloween costume or alien attack out there. Shudder to think.

But he said "take anyone, but not him," so obviously this is what he really wants. Or am I missing something?
