Unless the : is used differently in England (not being a sports nut I never noticed), more like - in America. But still there should be nothing between the names in that sense either.

You are not a troll. I believe you're wrong about some things, but you are so not a troll. Because you post with your identity, nor like you post in places like jackxianto that Jack/Ianto is a horrible, horrible lie.

Of course Jack wants Gwen. I might not like it or be very comfortable about it, and it's kind of the reason I don't like Gwen that much (because I think Rhys deserves better than Gwen, not because of Jack) but he very obviously *does* want Gwen

I'd love to see canon J/I/G, but I'm still convinced that Ianto is too possessive to go along easily or happily, and a lot of the hard-core J/Iers seem to have a similar POV. To accept J/I/G, they'd have to accept that Ianto is not the be-all and end-all of what Jack wants/needs, and that he's had Ianto and still wants Gwen. That's what kills them.

*facepalm* Jack totally wants Gwen. He also respects the social restraints of the time they live in, and her marriage. He understands that, whatever it may have been like elsewhere/when, in the twenty-first century in Cardiff it is Not Okay to go after a married (or engaged) woman if she is not in an open relationship. Which it is pretty damn clear that Gwen and Rhys are not.

What any of this has to do with Ianto, fuck if I know. But then, I don't believe in monogamous!Jack.

They use it to say that Jack ONLY wants Ianto. They can't stand the idea of him wanting anyone else, especially Gwen and they refuse to accept that Jack is Jack. (Also that Ianto is Ianto...i.e. possessive and not wanting Jack to be Jack.)
