House Babble for Post Mortem

May 08, 2012 12:17

Along with the on-line presence of michelleann68 and evila_elf, I was joined in the flesh by Hubby, who was home due to my giving him my cold, since I'm generous that way. He used to love this show as much as I did, back when it was, you know, good. To show how much he's hasn't been following things, during the course of the show, he asked if House was still with Cuddy ( Read more... )

Oh, by the way, crack monkeys, nice SUBTLE symbolism there with the hearse. I nearly got a concussion from the falling anvils.

Anvils. What would the House writers do without them?

When Wilson said the threesome, I thought, "whatever happened to Smooth!Wilson who gave House dating advice? When did Wilson regain his virginity?" And I disliked the bald cap joke.

EXACTLY! Yes, Wilson had his "nice" persona, but it was made clear in the first two seasons that he was genuinely a philanderer, which was one reason House was so obsessed with his sex life. They've been trying to re-virginize him the last few years, mostly (I think) to play up Taub's cheating credentials, but unfortunately for them, I have NOT taken the retcon.

I think if I were a cancer patient or survivor, I would have been deeply offended by this episode, BUT since I'm neither, I didn't feel comfortable making that point in the main body of the post.

House giving Wilson tips on how to score is along the lines of Holmes teaching Watson astronomy. It does not compute.

THANK YOU! I honestly wonder what kind of House/Wilson fan really gets any gratification out of believing in this woobie Wilson who is virtually a nun, rather than a manipulative bitch and a womanizer. If that's the Wilson you think you want, what the hell show were you watching for the first three years?

The Wilson of prior season would argue that he could do the whole one week to live play with just a cough and a pitiful look into his drink.

I could settle for Chase is the new House, and we end with his fondling the ball as "You Can't Always Get What You Want" comes over the soundtrack
I want this ending so bad now. Guh!

I agree with almost all of it. I do believe Chase is leaving. If the series weren't ending then I know he'd be staying, but they're trying to do different things for the wrap-up. *rolls eyes*

This show has done too many cheap "farewell" scenes only to have the fare-wellies come back when needed for another cheap scene. Their departures have no credibility with me.

you might like my version better. it's not OOC or anvilicious or shmoopy. I even have House mock threatening to break Chase's arm.
