House Babble for Post Mortem

Along with the on-line presence of michelleann68 and evila_elf, I was joined in the flesh by Hubby, who was home due to my giving him my cold, since I'm generous that way. He used to love this show as much as I did, back when it was, you know, good. To show how much he's hasn't been following things, during the course of the show, he asked if House was still with Cuddy ( Read more... )

Yes. Chase IS the new House, and when I keep mentally correcting RSL's line delivery to something that sounds like an actual person and not someone on a Broadway stage, it means it's really, really not working for me. If RSL could just pull back ALL his acting so that it was of roughly the same subtlety as the scene on the bus (voice breaks optional), I would like Wilson a whole lot more. At this point, I've really had it. But that's why I haven't been watching, I guess.

However... I could kind of get behind the Chase/Foreman again.

Patient was unusually awesome too.

There was a time when Wilson could walk into House's office and RSL's theatrical delivery somehow worked. Maybe it was because Wilson was a believable character with a sense of humor, so we knew he was spoofing on himself when he did that. That's just one of the qualities that has been lst through the coarsening of the writing.

I honestly would have thought House would be more interested in a patient who tried to cut his own head off than in indulging Wilson's angst.

I really didn't like the whole episode, except the part Chase was on. And it turned out Chase left. No comment.

I should watch the last two episodes now, but I've an issue with letting go. really, i am not ready yet. I think I will watch them tomorrow - hubby is VERY angry with me about that :-)

I'm not sure what your drinking status is, but you might wish to employ some intoxicating beverage to get through the last two. And ANGRY HUBBY should be warned that things may be flung across the room.

Angry hubby's been warned :-)
We decided to set a day of next week to watch it. I know I can get exasperating sometimes (this is just the case) , but luckily hubby even if he does not understand has accepted the thing.
I don't understand myself as well: I am angry with what the show has become, but at the same time this season is reminding me the first ones a lot and it's difficult for me to end an era. If it had ended with season 7( which I refused to watch, after the first couple of episodes) , for example, I would'n have been that involved.

I still think that if the ratings had been shit and Fox had pulled the plug at the end of Season 2, House would have been the greatest cult show ever. Every single episode would have been a gem and we could all be weeping over what could have been instead of the horror of what was.

Much love to your hubby. Our significant others do put up with a lot in the name of our fangirl madness.
