“I need to know you ain’t gonna make her feel like a sinner.”

Inara's too cultured to say "ain't." (Unless she's deliberately poking at Mal, but that's not relevant here.) "I need to know you won't make her feel like she's a sinner." is more in keeping with her character and still gets you your word count.

That said, I LOVE this.

Also, I believe it's Frye, not Fry.

What a beautiful end line. I wish there were more religions like that. And/or smart Shepherds. This one I got after reading twice, although once again your drabbles make me wish I wasted more time in front of the TV screen.

Glad you liked. If you want to catch up on Firefly, it's fairly easy as the show only made it through one season, followed by a movie, but it's still got a massive fandom.

Love this. :) Inara would definitely look out for Kaylee that way.

“If there’s love, then there’s no sin.”

That's believable from Shepherd, whether it's from the beliefs of his order or being unwilling to judge when there's no harm, since it's implied he may have done plenty of harm in his own past.

Thank you! I haven't watched the whole series multiple times like some of the fans, but I'm really struck by how well the characters were written. And I do love Shepherd Book.

Thank you! I guess Inara/Kaylee is the favored femslash pairing on the show, although as with most Joss-verse everyone has chemistry with everyone else.
