i start school today. have one class of Eng 102, and it looks like i will have 18 students. wow. and i have classroom in daniel hall, so it's like i'm a halfway proper english teacher.

i'm looking forward to having easy access to the library again to read periodicals and do research.

being a teacher is great and terrifying all at the same time

So very early tomorrow morning I'm headed off to New York City to see my friend Josh and to go see Eddie Izzard at Radio City Music Hall. I'll be there until Monday. Well, I will be teaching at Piedmont next semester as an adjunct. I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited about this. having your parents visit you in a foreign country is even more stressful than a normal parent encounter.

I have no life.
I have no money.
I sleep all day and work all night.
I'm working harder than I've ever worked before, but if you asked me what I'm doing, the answer would be "reading and writing."
I'll alternately love and hate the same text in the same day.
I'm losing my mind.

I don't want to be a student any more, but I don't want to be an adult

Letters get returned to me that are addressed perfectly fine. My birthday present is stuck in customs and is being held for ransom. Letters from friends have not come. And on top of all the incompetence, they charge an exorbitant amount to make my life miserable.
